Subject: CSA Share #2
05/13/2007 07:07:01 PM PDT

CSA subscribers and friends:

Howdy! It's been a busy 10 days or so. Dug 250 row feet of tater beds out at Try/On Farm, and on my way out to do at least that many more. Started the carrot beds at the 83rd & Shiller garden. Labelled all the medicinal plants at the Cora garden (with their Latin and common names!). Went out to the North Plains acreage and weeded and thinned like mad. And while I was out there, I saw that there's more food for y'all!! Tons more radishes, getting bigger and juicer than the last batch, plus the debut of this year's spicy Mustard Greens, which you'll be getting in the super-bourgious baby-leaf form. Ok, there's some hail damage on the leaves, but they taste delicious! And they are the 2nd generation of a special mix I grew out and let cross last year, so this is a Sunroot Gardens Original(TM).

So, CSA share will be DELIVERED sometime later this week, at times/locations convenient to each household. We can arrange this over email or phone.

SORREL, LOVAGE and LEMON BALM, OH MY!
If you really enjoyed any or all of these three offerings from the first CSA (of which you'll get more this week), you can have your very own plant! Lemon Balm and Sorrel can grow in a large pot, but Lovage needs to be in the ground. I have extras of all three and will gladly deliver one to a location of your request, help you find a good spot for it, and dig it in. Just reply by email, phone, in-person, or vibe, and we'll set up the details.

COMING SOON: Photos of the different gardens, recipes, and more opportunities to help out!
